Toyota Prius 2002 check engine light?

I bought the car and drove it 50 miles. All was great.

Had some body work done on it and the battery was disconnected. WHen I got it back the check engine light came on.

I noticed the inverter reservior was low on fluid. Haven't put fluid in it yet.

I also pulled the red kill switch in the trunk down the forgot to put it back on then tried to start it. Now the warning light about the battery comes on.

Any suggestions about the check engine light?

How do I get the warning light to go off?

take your car to an auto parts place like auto zone or advanced and have them put a scan tool on, they can read the codes and reset the light, this is usually a free service, at least you will know what triggered the check engine light, hope this helps

It could be that the gas thingy was left unclosed after filling the tank, if not maybe needs an oil change or is just nothing.

Not sure about the Prius but other Toyota models use a check engine light which automatically comes on every 5,000 miles. You reset it by holding down the trip meter, then turn the key to auxillary - not on. The trip meter should reset to 000000. Release and all is back to normal.
