2006 Toyota Corrolla kicking when shifting gears.......?

Our 2005 Corolla automatic is kicking when shifting into all the gears. We checked the trans fluid and it's of normal color, quantity, and does not smell burnt. The vehicle only has 49K miles. The check engine light came on so we started manually shifting. Once we did that the engine light went off and we presumed driving normal. Now the light is back on. Is the vehicle is covered by a 60K manufacturers warranty? How do we fix this problem with out spending an arm and a leg? Thank you in advance.

Try to chain transmission fluid and filter? Try a transmission additive that helps stops slips and hard shifting.

well if the engine light comes on, your supposed to take it into the mechanic shop to get it diagnosed. it should be still on warranty, unless if the 3 year warranty is up. if its still on warranty, take it into the dealership for sure.

when it comes to cars, if you ignore a problem, it might get worse, and it will be more expensive than if you fixed it right away.

it needs a ecu, a computer for your car. this is a common problem there as a service bulletin for this very problem. call your dealer and tell them it is covered for 90k so don't worry bout it. I work at a dealership and we do lots of them for that very problem

it should be 5 year 60,000 on the power train. you better hope its in the transmission , the worst case you have to pay for a diagnois fee, about 1 hour. good luck
