timing belt issue Camry 1998?
I just wanted to say, as Snowman does not have email, that for my Camry 1998, the issue I had is the Timing Belt as we thought. I just opened the up cover of the timing belt and it was lose. I called a friend to be sure and asked him to turn the ignition on for me and effectively the timing belt is broken. I will replace it myself as it is best to replace the water pump as well which is there, otherwise it can be another major headache in the future. The car-repair center asked to much for my budget in the small town where I live.
Jessica is 4 cylinders, 2.2 liters.
I tried to answer you directly but I still cannot find how to respond directly in this program, I do not see any place where I can click for an answer.
Finally there are a couple of big bolts my compressor is not strong enough to pull them out, so today a friend of mine will drive all the way from Miami to help me with it. Then I'll pay him for his work.
It is better to replace at the same time the water pump as it is there and if in the future gets bad then you will have to do the whole thing again or pay the whole thing over again.
