Does any one know what the most powerful engine will fit my 1990 toyota Corolla?

its a standerd car 2.4L I think.

You have a vehicle that was designed and built for economy, not a race car...stick with the stock motor and enjoy. especially when fuel goes back to $ 5.00 per gallon :}

It depends entirely on how much money and engineering work you're prepared to put into it.

The biggest engine which would logically fit into that architecture would be the 4.6L V8 1UR-FE out of the Leuxs LS460, though I suspect that you'd need to do something about the bonnet.

If you wanted to be truly ridiculous, you could install a GE J79 which would give you about a million horsepower, or you could attach it to a Saturn V rocket.

What model corolla do you have? The 1990 Toyota Corolla never came with a 2.4 L Engine. You either have 1.6 L dohc fuel injected or 2 bbl carb.

There are two versions of the 1.6 dohc fuel injected. The 4AF-E, which is the less powerful economy engine with little upgrade options or the very popular tuner engine --> 4A-GE, which in the model only came in the two door coupe Corolla GTS.

If you have the Corolla GTS you have tons of options to make huge power. Especially for such a light tossable car.

If you have a four door Corolla then your cheapest, and easiest route is drop in a 4A-GE, and build up the engine, with a turbo or supercharger.

If you drop in a bigger engine, you will just throw the balance of the car off. Plus it will take a lot longer and cost more money.
