What models of toyota 4runners will share interchangable parts with my 1991 4runner...

Default What models of toyota 4runners will share interchangable parts with my 1991 4runner...
...(namely transmissions)? I am looking to replace my transmission and can't find a 1991 model transmission...but have found other models..i was just wondering if they will interchange with any 90's model 4runner?

If your 4Runner is a 5spd manual then you can use the years of 89-95 as long as the vehicle has the same engine. If it is automatic then you might run into ecu problems from the different years, not 100% sure on it though. Toyota seemed to changed the ECU's year to year.
