If you treat them right they go forever. Toyotas are famous for reliable. The only thing I would do is buy from someone where the car history is clear, that is, sexist though it might be , buy one that has been somebodys moms, or someone civil - and a nice suburb... like that. Avoid freeflow exhausts and shortened gearsticks, big bass sound systems and those racing accessories..all these indicate robust usage. If you want an auto the sportcar types dont like them so much. The VW is great too, but when you want to buy a part for them, you need deep pockets. Under 100k is a good choice and a service record. I loved mine, elegant and reliable.
