The truth is that the battery has a full warranty for 8 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. Parts & labor. Not pro-rated. If Tennessee follows California's emission regulations (I don't think it does) then the warranty is for 10 years or 150,000 miles. Either way, very few batteries have been replaced, and fewer still outside of warranty. If you are one of the unlucky few that does end up in that situation, the price for replacement is about $4,000 including labor; perhaps $1,000 less if you shop around.
It's a waste of money putting a K&N air filter on a Prius, unless you plan on driving with your foot to the floor all the time. The K&N filter lets more air through than a standard filter, but the Prius will adjust the throttle to compensate for the extra air -- so net, no change.
