How much to replace starter in 93 Toyota 4 Runner?

Car was having trouble starting. So we replaced the battery, checked the alternator, and bypassed the alarm. When we turn the key, the radio works, antenna goes up, but it just makes a click sound and now does not start at all.

likely quite high. i had a toyota corolla starter problem so i removed it, took it to a rebuilder, and it was $99. and cents. all removal and replacing labor was mine. i GUESS $60 or so more for labor. BUT! if i had bought a rebuilt starter i think it was around $200 and new almost double! so $300-500 at a shop.

this was in texas where wages (pay) are cheap!

Are you positive the starter is the problem. What are the symptoms of the problem.

Are the battery cables tight on the post. If so and you have done all that. I would say it might be the starter. Do this get a hammer and lightly bang on the starter. If it does start and then more then likely it is the starter. Keep this in mind and that is it will only work for a

certain amount of time.

90% of the time you can have the starter rebuilt...They tend to corroid inside the stater..The starter is fine it needs to be taken apart and cleaned is all....Take it to a rebuild starter and alterantor shop and they will hook you up for about 65 bucks or less!!!!!

You could go to auto store and find out, but you didn't, so I am going to say your starter gave out, check the solnoid or regulator. I would call auto zone, then you might have to take the starter there, and they will test it for free. Get professional advice if you think it is not the starter. I think it is, because you bought a new battery
