1998 Camry Oil leak help?

2.2l 5s-fe engine, 145k mi. Water pump and timing belt were replaced 2 years ago. Oil leak is coming from back passenger side of engine bay. I think Ive found the source but I don't know the name of the part or maybe its a pump?...Its the top left part on the serpentine belt routing. Not sure if this helps but the leak started today severely and the part Ive noticed is drenched in oil and everything under it from blowing back driving.

10 years old...hmmm. time to park it and get an expert to look at it. sounds like you blew a gasket but from the way you talk about it, your not mechanically inclined so...best bet would get a mechanic to look at it and get them to fix it.

Otherwise, time to learn the basics of automobiles and their parts with google. then buy the book at your local napa or other autoparts store that is specifically for your car. It will tell you how to exactly fix it and what you will need.

Good luck, sounds like a lot of work if its losing that much oil.

I think the problem is a robber gasket of / it could be the crank case you

are talking about. It should be a robber gasket problem if your engine no crack.

Are you sure it's engine oil? That is where a power steering leak comes from. Check your oil and your steering fluid.

If it's oil, it's probably a front main seal. Not a biggie. No need to remove engine or seperate trans. $10 part. $200 labor.

If it's a power steering leak, that's a $50 hose.

Don't listen to there guys who say its not worth fixing. You'll get another 50- 100K miles out of it.
