Spark plugs for 2001 Camry 2.2?

My 4 cly came with Denso DUAL electrode spark plugs. (aka, dual/twin tips). Also, this engine has a waste-ignition system, firing the plugs twice. (From center electrode to tip but them fires from tip back to electrode)

I didn't fell like buying $10 NGK dual tip plugs #3452 so I got $2 NGK G-power #7092 with a single electrode. It's "one level below" the OEM. I heard other used the NGK iridium plug with a single ground #3764 with no problem.

Other than a shorter life, it idle and fell about the same as the old ones. Will these plugs cause problems later down the road like misfiring or put more stress on the ignition system?

I don't think the OE NGK's were dual tip, more like a split tip U groove style. They were iridium plugs which the G Powers are platinum.

I don't see a problem. You might find the plats wear out sooner and replace them at 60K miles instead of 100K. Nice thing about iridium is they do not drop off in performance over time, where the plats do.

I don't think you will have a performance problem, the car doesn't know the difference. For about $8-10 you can afford to replace the plats every few years.

The lower quality, standard plugs will wear out quicker than the iridium or platinum plugs. My recommendation is to think like this: "I'm too poor to buy cheap..." Shop NAPA, O'Reilly, AutoZone and CarQuest for price if you want, but I wouldn't get anything less than a high quality plug that provides a strong spark and therfore strong performance and the best gas mileage over a longer period of time. Below are some spark plug options for you that I found.
