Do you need a turbo to put on a bov?

Default Do you need a turbo to put on a bov?
Im getting a supra and im gonna put a blowout valve on it and my friends telling me i can only put it on the supra that is turbo or twin turbo. Is it true?

true. The BOV releases pressure from the turbo. Your non turbo engine has vacuum so it does nothing.

You can put a BOV on a non-turbo car... but it won't do anything. you'd be spending money to add a useless hunk of metal to the engine bay. it will never trigger, because there will never be any pressure to bleed off. instead, it will make everyone who looks in your engine bay assume you're an idiot who should never be allowed to modify a car.
