Check owners manual for how often you should change the oil. (Usually between 3000 to 15000 miles between oil changes.)
To actually change it, follow this general procedure:
-Warm up engine a little bit.
-Get a drain pan, take off the drain plug on the oil pan on the bottom of the engine, let oil drain out in pan.
-Take off old oil filter and put a new one on
-Replace oil pan plug and tighten
-Fill with new oil (check owners manual for amount)
-Start car and let idle for a minute. Turn off, let it sit for a minute, then check the oil level again, add more if needed.
-Take used oil to a disposal place like O'Reilly Auto parts.
