1982 Toyota Corolla just quit running?

Default 1982 Toyota Corolla just quit running?
Engine turns over, but will not start. Ether had been sprayed into carb, but nothing. Battery has good charge, good gas.. fuel filter has been changed.. I was thinking, bad fuel sending unit? Or fouled spark plugs? Need to get this little gem up and running soon.. help! Was sitting there idling when poof, quit running.















Wow Micheal- hadn't thought about it being the timing belt. I'm one of those people who believe in "easy fixes". Don't ask me why, been tooling with cars long enough to know better. This car is for sale for about $700 w/a great body and int. and the seller adores this car, and it only has 77k miles on it. If I have the time I'll take a trip over and pull the plugs, check the rotor and points and also the gas tank sending unit. All great answers -except of course for the first one.
