Gasoline engine problems?

Default Gasoline engine problems?
My Camry has a run of the mill I-4 Toyota engine and it's started to spew white smoke for a few seconds when I start it in the morning. Can anyone help me with this?































I think it's from a combination of it being cold enough to see the smoke, the block being cold, and the main reason: a combustion chamber not burning up all of the fuel.

Sounds like oil is leaking into the cylinders. Depending on how severe it is, you may or may not get good results using RESTORE engine oil additive. Check the oil (cold) to see how low it is, I bet it's losing around a quart every couple weeks. Change the oil and add RESTORE - comes in a silver can with an hexagonal logo on front, available at the parts store.

White smoke (steam) is normal when its cold out side but I am thinking you may have a head gasket issue. Have you had overheating problems recently? Are you loosing coolant?

ALL cars spew some steam on start-up. This is because water vapor is a normal byproduct of combustion.















If your car is not using coolant, excessive oil, or overheating, do not worry about it,

when a vehicle smokes for a few seconds after startup its because the valve stem seals are worn out (plain and simple) the quick movement of the valves quickly warms the seals up, they expand and the leak goes away. eventually it will smoke all the time as the seals wear out more.
