Default My Avalon 2005 and MAINT REQD light on after I changed gasoline ?
I have a Toyota Avalon model 2005 limited American specification. I live in north of Iraq Please Help me ...

I had something similar happen to me while driving Toyota Sienna minivan out of state on vacation after stopping to purchase gas. I checked everything under the hood and was deeply concerned bec if it happened where I live, I trust my Toyotas (also had Toyota Highlander and previously Toyota Camry that had 211,000 miles when we gave it away, plus 2 Toyota Corollas both which had 150,000 miles) to my mechanic of 20 years who long ago worked at dealership and it would have been my 1st Stop.































I continued to watch my gauges and surprisingly the light disappeared when I purchased gas the next time many 100's of miles down the interstate...whereby the problem had to do sonething with not putting back the fuel cap correctly/tightly. Guess what, I have occasionally visit Yahoo Answers and have seen someone else have the same/similar problem.

The "Maint Reqd" light is simply a reminder for you to get your oil changed. This is not like the Check Engine light. This light comes on 5000 miles after the last time the counter was reset. To reset the light, do the following.































Turn the key to "ON" but do not start the car.















press the odometer button so that it's displaying the odometer and not trip A or trip B















turn the key to "OFF"















hold down the odometer button and turn the key to "ON" but do not start the car.















you will see the odometer display a series of dashes and then all '0's















the light is now reset and you can let go of the button.

type of fuel wouldnt cause a light unless it might have been bad fuel just a reminder to have service done like a tune up or oil change
