1992 Toyota Celica Transmission vin number?

Default 1992 Toyota Celica Transmission vin number?
My transmission just went out and I took it off and saw a chrome plaque on it with two lines of numbers and letters. Like a vin number..I've been to a couple junk yards looking at transmissions and looking for one with that number. Is this number just like a unique number for that ONE transmission?

1 # is the type of transmission, and the other is the transmission part #.

If you're looking for a transmission, I'm assuming it's an autromatic. What trim level do you have? If your car is an ST model, the automatic is the A243L tranny. If it's the GT or GT-S, then you have the A241E tranny. I hope this helps.
