About my 2000 Toyota Celica?

I have a 2000 silver Toyota Celica. It is a 5-speed manual BUT on the back of my car it says it is a "GT-S" well everyone told me GT-S's are only 6 speeds?? And I am getting ready to sale it why does it say that if it isn't a 6 speed?

Someone could have changed the badge before you bought it.

The GT-S had the 2ZZ-GE engine with a 6 speed transmission and the GT had the 1ZZ-FE with a 5 speed transmission.

Did you buy it new? If not, the previous own may have been trying to fool folks or the car was repaired and they used whatever parts they could get. Be up front in your ad so folks who know what a GT-S should have won't come shopping and get perturbed with you.

if you are a second owner a nice little ricer may have bought it stickers and had fun like idiots that have bmw 3 series and slap on m3 badges everywhere call up your local toyota and give them your vin they will tell you exactly what model it is for free and its quick too your vin should be on a insurance card or registration

Double check your vin to find out for sure, you can mach vin numbers with which base model the car was, a possibilitie someone destroyed the 6 speed and put the junkyard 5 speed in cause it was cheeper, people do wierd things even with newer cars. or it could of just been re badged
