04 to 08, only MINOR options changes. No appearance or significant upgrades. The 2009 is more powerful, more efficient and just as boring.

The 2010 is a new body (although it looks similar to its predecessor) with a different engine, so it would qualify as the third generation. The first generation was 97-2003, and the second was 04-09.

The first Prius came out in 1996 (1997 model year) in Japan only. NHW10































An update was done to prepare the Prius for worldwide distribution, though the body remained the same in 2000 (2001 model year). NHW11































A complete redesign was done in 2003 (2004 model year). NHW20































A complete redesign was done in 2009 (2010 model year). ZVW30
