Is this a Prius thing?

I know this is a generalization, but I've noticed that a fair amount of Prius owners seem to be bad drivers. Just this week, I had two almost accidents with Prius' slowing very abruptly on an interstate, or speeding up and nearly clipping my fender while cutting me off. They seem to slow down and speed up very unpredictably.

Is there something about the Prius that attracts lousy drivers?

Ya i think its the people who dont care what there car looks like or care how good they drive. they just try to save money but they dont know what the hell is going on when they are driving. i hate them too because when they are on you cant even tell.

I believe this to be due to the fact that the Prius looks distinctive and most people can recognize them (though the new Honda Insight can now be mistaken for a Prius and vice-versa). Most cars just look like every other car so a bad driver in something else is just another bad driver and the car being driven isn't noticed. It's similar to when someone told me that people who wear hats in cars are bad drivers. This is something that's easy to spot and focus on.

I've been experiencing that for a long time on the freeway on my daily 90 mile roundtrip form home to work. I've come top the conclusion that the Prius attracts lousy drivers. Based on my experiences, so far, I've been right. However, not all Prius drivers are that bad, but when I experience those situations, the Prius seems to be the most common car.

That HAS to be a coincidence, because I know a few bad drivers, and they don't own Prius'. But then again, YOU may be the bad driver.
