If you have the vehicle you speak of, simply look at the hubs (both were available).

i thought all the older pickups were manual locking hubs, but i guess they had some automatic hubs according to Jimney_J

Manuel hubs mostly....Very few autos....I perfer the manuels anyway....

Comes with both I have a 89 4 cylinder it has manual hubs.If you are thinking of purchasing it make sure the engine gaskets have been replace in it 89-94 six cylinder engines have bad gasket materials if you search ( 89-94) you will find that you can get one for real cheap do to engine trouble
