Default Used Toyota: What is a good odometer reading?
I'm looking to buy my first car, and I'm aiming towards the Toyota Corolla, and Starlet, both in the 1990-1997 models.















For these cars, what would be a good odometer reading? I know that other things need to be factored into it such as service history etc, But overall just an estimate, what would be ok?















Is something like 250,000km too much?















Main question is what odometer reading is too high?































Thank you!















I'm not sure if its relevant in anyway... But the car will be manual transmission.

250,000? I think that's a lot. No, I wouldn't buy it.

Im in the US..















Depends on what you are paying for it.. 250,000 KM is about 155K miles...















in the US a corolla with 155K miles, depending on the year will still get about 3,000 (USD) dollars for a 1990-1992 model..































I had a 1985 Camry that had 379,000 miles (942,000KM) on it when i got rid of it, it still ran like a champ.. (needed CV joints)















Just make sure that it was taken care of.. The automatic tranny's are bullet proof so you can either go Stick of automatic.. Just the clutches in the corolla's are a little flaky, they usually last about 150,000 miles.. If you buy a corolla that is older then a 1998 make sure the timing belt has been replaced, they need to be replaced every ((205,000KM) (100,000 miles) roughly)...















If the car was taken care of... it will last you a long while..

I agree with Nesquick. 250,000 is a bit much. My 1989 Camry wagon has close to that and is just about on its last run. It has developed a leak that my husband can't determine the source of. Around 100,000 miles should be ok if the timing belt has been replaced. That's about what my Camry had on it when we purchased it used 9 years ago.

Each year, the average car will 20,000kms. So for any car just do its age times by 20,000. You also shouldn't buy a second hand car that has over 270, 000 its not recommended.
