Default i have a 80 celica my tail lights stoped workin one random day?
i bought a new switch for the tail lights and nothing still does not light up. when i turn on all lights the tail lights light up

need to find out if it has a short ,try looking for mechanic that can trace where the short is coming from.

If the lamps still light up, I'll assume that you mean they go off when you hit the breaks. and I don't know what switch you replaced, so ....















sounds like a bad break light switch. It's mounted on the break petal.

For the 80's Celica lighting system is fairly straightforward. Are your referirng to the brake/stop light or the tail/side light? Gotten confused with your question, how to help?
