I've got a 4-door Yaris hatchback and the back seats aren't exactly roomy, so if you will have multiple passengers, the sedan would probably be better. But when the seats are down, there's quite a lot of cargo space, which was a more important consideration in my case. The trunks of the sedans are really small, so they're pretty much commuter vehicles. But if you take trips either alone or with one other person, the hatchback will serve you better because you'll have ample room for luggage.
As far as driving, the Yaris is plenty comfortable, though it takes a while to get used to the speedometer being located in the center of the dash. The seats have lots of positioning possibilities and the steering wheel can be raised or lowered with the pull of a lever. AC is standard these days, and I opted for the lesser Convenience Package of extras, which included the stereo with iPod connectivity. Most of the upgrades included in the Electronic Package are frills like electric locks and windows, which to me seem more likely to become problematic. But I love the car. Can't argue with 29mpg city!
