Need advice on repairing a side view mirror on a Toyota Camry?

Default Need advice on repairing a side view mirror on a Toyota Camry?
It's either a 1997 or a 1998 Toyota Camry (it's not my car, it's my aunt's so I'm not sure about the year but I know it's a fourth generation model). It has power mirrors. First I need an estimate on the cost of a replacement mirror. I also need an estimate on how much a mechanic would charge to repair it. However, if it's an easy repair to do myself, please tell me how to do it if you know how to. Thanks!

You can try to have a removable panel on the inside of the pillar.































The mirror is expensive becuase of it being electronic.































Your best option is going to a junk yard or calling your local body shops if they have any used ones in stock.

A lot of that depends on how your door panel is constructed.































I just replaced the side mirror on my 2005 Chevy Venture and picked one up online for less than $50.































I started to pull the door panel away with just my fingers and with just a little more prying, it was enough to replace the mirror.































But look into whether your door panels are that easy to remove. We just needed to remove a little for the mirror. But considering the age of your car, it may not be that simple.































See if you can do the same with your fingers to see how the door is constructed.

The another way is to visit some online auto blogs or forums. They can give you lots of tips for repairing the side view mirror
