Default O/D off light on my 95 toyota 4runner SR5 is flashing, whats wrong?
the o/d off light is flashing. the manual says to take it to a dealer (of course). any idea whats wrong with my tranny. fluid level is ok, but i havent changed the tranny filter in over 100k miles. oh by the way, my speedometer cable just broke and my speedometer isnt working, does that have anything to do with the flashing light. any assistance would very much be appreciated. p.s. is the speedo cable hard to replace

If the light came on right after the speedometer stop working it could be tied in. It could be the input or out put sensors in the transmission that may have caused the problem on both parts. But what ever it is you should take it to a skilled Professional to have it tested as soon as possible, the O/D light should not be flashing. There is some thing wrong ! It may not be shifting properly.You may cause other damage or problems by driving with the problem and it could cost you more money in the long run.
