it is mile stone high. If you have a source of income to fix things as you move along, well maybe worth it. The only sense in fixing, or expecting repairs is knowing when they get fixed, it will be awhile before you have to fix it again, if done right.

226 is alot of miles, be sure the car hasn't been sucked dry. I would get a diagnostic on it first, they are inexpensive, and the mechanic will give you a report, and be sure to check the "blue book " value.
5 grand is a bit much, though. The car is 15 years old. 3500 is better, in my opinion.
If the car is good, cosmitically, no dents, no rips in interior and can prove to be reliable and a good looking car, maybe worth it, but get the diagnostic check. You will have to drive the vehicle there. Maybe worth it, though.
