your engine has a timing belt it dosent put out enough power to need a chain.

Actually, your car has a timing chain. For that 1999-2003 vintage, only the 2002 and 2003 4 cylinder models have the 2.4 liter engine with a timing chain; Earlier models had the 2.2 liter with a timing belt. Make no mistake, you DO have a timing chain.
