How much should I pay to have my "starter" replaced in my 88 Corolla?

Default How much should I pay to have my "starter" replaced in my 88 Corolla?
I am in desperate need of a new starter for my Toyota corolla. Shopping around for honest mechanics make me very nervous because I know nothing about cars. I was thinking about taking my car to a PEPBOYS?, Either way, can someone help me get an estimate of what I should pay for this work without overspending.

around 80-150 in labor + the part......

If you have the work done at pepboys (or most other shop) you might expect to pay 220.00 to 360.00 but that should be about it. about 86 to 120 for the part

labor calls for .8 hr that's 56.00 labor. re-man starter should cost you about 120.00.































so i wouldn't spened any more than 200.00

we don't have a pepboys around here so i can't give you my 2 cts on that.
