I have a 1988 Toyota MR2 and I want to turbo it. How would this affect speed/performance, etc?

And...if I do turbo it, what kind of clutch would be best?

you are in the wrong place asking this. Google Toyota MR2 club.

you will find clubs online that u can join and get into disciussion with people who have done that exactly. Some mods have to be done. Engine for turbo is also different as teh boost brings the compression up and your piston rings may or may not be able to handle it. I suggest finding a ccrashed MR2 turbo wrecked and buying the engine

the acceleration wont be any better until the turbo heats up but then it will be like a rocket.

if you push it too hard it will over heat very easily with the turbo.
