How do I change Auto Tranny Fluid in a 1989 Toyota Celica?

I have a 1989 toyota celica st auto and it is in need of a automatic transmission fluid change. What specifics should I know of to do this? Is their a drain plug for it already? What is the best ATF?

Easiest way is to get a suction pump from the car parts store and suck it out the dip stick tube. There are manual hand pumps, about the size of a caulking gun. This is the method that the quick oil change places use, except they have powered pumps.

jack up car block it up slide under remove a few bolts ou tof transmission oil pan















have a large catch pan to catch oil slowly remove one bolt at a time it wil start dripping dont remove last one til you have drain some or you get a face ful of oil































once its down unscrew filter















scrape out old gasket















replace filter and gasket tighten it hand tight no more















add four or so quarts check crank look for leaks check again your done that easy
