They started using a timing chain again in 1998. The 1994 has a timing belt. If you don't know when or if it was ever changed, have that done. If it breaks you engine will not run. It won't destroy itself, but it won't start or run. It it slips a few teeth,it may lower the top speed- you won't notice until it slips more and the engine starts acting very badly.
The belt you can see- the one that has a crack. Go on and change that one. When it breaks it will flyoff and your power steering will get stiff and hard to turn, and your alternator light will light up and you'll not be charging the battery. The water pump, will not be driven and the engine will quickly overheat. You can save yourself all this trouble by changing that $20 belt before it breaks or slips off.
