Buying a 96 Toyota Corolla 1.6 Engine?

Default Buying a 96 Toyota Corolla 1.6 Engine?
My mechanic tells me my engine is shot because the oil cap popped off and got oil everywhere while I was driving. I've looked through google for hours and can't find any information so I come to you guys.































Can anyone inform me on a website or somewhere I could buy a new engine or does anyone have any ideas on if it's completely shot? I have no idea about cars so I can't tell you what's wrong with it. I've checked ebay but can't seem to find the specific one. He mentioned a website called greymarker an asian website that sells them used for low prices, but I've yet to find anything on google about that.

Are you sure you really need a new engine? Clean it up, get some oil back in it and then see what happens. You can get a Haynes manual for $20 (they make it for the corolla) and do the work yourself. I get my Toyota parts at citytoyotaparts.com. They are less expensive than buying from my local dealer. If it turns out you really do need an engine, check on Ebay Motors.
