Absolutely, their image will suffer for about 6 months after the current debacle. In the interim, I would guess the average vehicle will slide in price by $1k-2k. It's unlikely they will take a heavy hit in value because there are too many loyal Toyota consumers out there. The educated ones know this is a relatively minor glitch in an otherwise stellar line of vehicles. They are fine vehicles and if you buy one, just be sure you know the status of the recall performed on that vehicle. Watch over the next 1-2 months to see what kind of incentives are offered. Used vehicle prices go down when new car incentives are increased. It will be interesting to see what Toyota does to buy-back it's marketshare!
