oil problem 86 supra?

Default oil problem 86 supra?
i have an 86 Supra 3.0L 6cyl. i just got the car about a month ago and went to change the oil and when i went to put oil back in it, it called for 4.5 qts. i checked the dipstick and there was no oil so i added the rest of the 5th quart. and now it shows about a half quart low. it looked like about 6 quarts where emptied out when i drained the oil. any suggestions of why there would be more then the recommended 4.5qts in the engine















it calls for 4.5qts including filter

did you change the filter too? that takes another quart.

You forgot to take into account the oil filter. On smaller engine the oil filter is a half a quart, on v8 engines will hold a 1 quart.

Is it the turbo or N/A 7m?































5.2 Quarts for N/A, 5.4 Quarts for Turbo.
