93 toyota corolla automatic won't start?

It would idle down when stopped. Then it finally cut off yesterday while driving. Now it wont start at all. Plugs, wires, whole distributer assembly was changed. Dont know whats wrong. Please help!!!!!

The spark plugs, wires, and distributor cap and rotor was changed last weekend. It ran great at first. Then today the rest of the distributor and coil was done with no luck.

The engine does try to turn over. And it does get some fire. I dont know to much about cars, so im not sure about the fuel

when was the distributor assembly changed, Has it ran since it was changed, do you have spark to the plugs, is your fuel pump kicking on when you turn the key, is the engine turning over?

I bet it needs a new cambelt. When they stretch beyond service, or break, the car does just like yours is doing. All that money spent changing good parts could have been saved by checking the parts to see if they were faulty, instead of dumping in replacements. You can put a timing light on the car and either it will not flash or it will show timing way off, but since a new distributor was put in and adjusted to show correct timing but if the camshaft is in the wrong orientation due to bad timing belt, the engine is way out of time.

There is a way to do on board diagnosis on the car and see the trouble code flash on the check engine light. A good auto repair manual whill show howto jumper the diagnostic port terminals to get the car to tell you what its problem is. Car part stores sell the manual for about $20 and they sell the jumper-rig to set the diagnostic port to show trouble codes. I've seen them go forabout $25. You can do the same thing with a paperclip if you look in the book.
