1979 toyota 4x4 smog removal?

Default 1979 toyota 4x4 smog removal?
i removed the smog pump and the hoses but what do i do with the hole the hose went into? Plug it or somethin...man i wish i knew more about vehicles...thanks

yes you MUST close or plug those openings. usually there is an inlet hose to the air pump that has a connection at the clean side of the air filter. you have to close that or your engine will suck dirty air back in through that opening. put a rubber cap over it or put a plug in the hose. At the manifold you may have to make a little plate or someting to bolt tight to cover the hole - other wise you will have a bad exhaust noise.
