Default my 1994 toyota paseo lags going up hill, why?
my 1994 toyota paseo lags when it is going up hill. you can have the pedal floored and it seems to just stay at a constant rpm, then all the sudden it starts to pick up after maybe 5-10 seconds (big hill). I want to think it is the oxygen sensor. I bought the car used and it has this wire that i cannot figure out where it is suppose to go or where it is coming from. the car has a full aftermarket exhaust system, and the check engine light is on. according to the previous owner, the check engine light would came on after he installed a short ram intake on it.































anybody have suggestions?

Take the car to Autozone and have the code read for free. It'll help you to figure out what's going on. Good luck.

maybe its the transmission, or the spark plugs, i dont think the exhaust has to do with it, nore the wire or the Oxygen sensor. hope this awnsers your question, good luck! my dad had a ford ranger and it was the same problem, it was the spark plug an the trans.

Because it's a Toyota Paseo! Seriously! The previous owner tried to fix that problem, but couldn't do it. Didn't you at least test drive a Dodge Neon?
