Default 2003 tacoma tires rubbing question?
I have a stock 2003 toyota tacoma 4x4 ext cab sr5..I just got 265/75/16 mud terrains with aftermarket 16/8 rims.. My front tires rub when i turn sharp to the left or going over bumps.. My question is What kinda lift do i need to fix this? I don't really wanna do the leveling kit and i don't wanna go over 3 or 4 inches if i don't have too...And i don't want to spend tons of money doing this...I don't have the option of changing to smaller tires either! Could someone point me in the right direction of a good website or lift-kit that i could use? Or any ideas would be a great help...Thanks

Get less wide rims as will never drive right lifted as was made with 10.5 inch off ground stock which is most. I had 1982 4wdf tacoma and hadf 33" on stock rims and no problem. With 22R engine and its 125 HP and 145 torque used to pull 15 yard dirt and gravel trucks stuck as I was landscape contractor. I had to sell when taranny went and could not find for 2 weeks so had to after driving in 1st and 3rd buy a new truck after 387,000 miles and to make it worse i saw theguy who bought for 1500.00 next day with new tranny he had and repainting with 6 coats of metallic charcoal emron paint and toyoiguard it.

I had the same problem with my 98 tacoma.I put 33x12.5 on the truck with 3 inch daystar spacers on the front and 3 inch add a leafs on the back...The tires fit except when I turned the front wheels.I even removed the front mudflaps and trimmed the inner splash shield...I had to to 33x9.5 swampers to solve the problem...I think the daystar lift will cure your problem because your not puttting on as large of tire as I did...It,ll cost you about 250.00 installed...Big O tires put the lift on for me...Lots of luck!!!
