I don,t think they are still begging for money...They are all in the process of paying back some...I agree with you on the fords...I owned 1 ford in my 50 year lifetime and will never own another...I have 3 toyota,s one chevy truck and an old 67 plymouth car...Of course the Plymouth is from the time when they ruled the strip and the street...There will never be a ford in my future...The only good ford is a pre ww2 ford...

oh how quaint you are so smart... You don't understand anything about the car world do you? Did you know that most toyota honda and nissan engines are developed by Ford and Chevy and most Mitsubishi engines are developed by chrysler? Did you know that longevity readings show that a ford and a Jeep is more likely to last pass the 300,000 mile marker than any of their japanese korean or european competitors? did you paty attention to the fact that they included mercury and lincoln products in the ford recall along with commercial vehicles were they only included toyota products in the toyota section? Did you see that the Ford recalls were mostly cosmetic recalls vs toyota's were mostly mechanical recalls. Did you look at the fact that they repeated the same recalls in Ford where they didn't repeat them with the toyotas?

Now before you try to seem all smart and try bashing on your local american products how about you get a clue? oh and by the way in Fords 108 year history there have only been 5,000 deaths due to there product with over 50 million vehicles sold world wide. In Toyotas 78 year history there have been over 22,000 deaths due to there products and they have only sold about 28 million cars.... so which car manufacturer do you trust more again? yeah I thought so... SHUT UP! And learn some respect for your country and the people who helped make it what it is today. BTW you like sitting infront of that computer your on. You wouldn't be able to afford it if companies like chrysler ford and GM weren't arround to help build our society up.

EDIT: to the idiot Patel, You shamelessly argue a point with no fact behind it and your indian why would I expect you to know what a good car is, you guys think maruti makes a good product (suzuki). Yeah the forenza is your big accomplishment so you shut up too. And to anyone else that bashed american cars mindlessly. Take the money that you get in your paychecks and burn it becuase without these companies you wouldn't have that money. To the person that backed me up thank you. And I just wanted to add this little fact. I was watching a documentary on the american automotive industry and found out that Ford after the exploder issue paid severance to all the families and did the same thing in the 70's when they had issues with the diesel commercial trucks that had the faulty brake lines.

Toyota, I was wrong on the exact number of death tolls on their cars. Including the recent brake failures the death total rose to 25,000 people and they haven't paid back any severance to the families of the dead. They actually tried, before this got blown up in the media, to blame the dead on, and I quote "personal neglagence". Hmmm.... and the american car companies are bad? How about coperations as a whole have their issues and maybe you should support our country rather than pushing us into an even further economical decline.

GM is going to pay back the entire LOAN! in June. Toyota Honda and Volkswagen all got Money from their respective countries also....so were they begging too? Not really their countries gave it to them no questions asked because they were smart enough to know the importance of an industrial base! Its ignorant people like you that know nothing of which you are talking about that needs to get a clue about the importance of the American auto industry!

Nothing is sweeter than watching the real Toyota be exposed right now and all the stupid people that fell for the Toyota quality propaganda! Enjoy you hunk of crap car.

The respondent officer troll has the best answer to your question. GM & Chrysler are not begging for money. Both companies are repaying, or have paid back the money that they borrowed from the government. I recently traded in my Toyota for a Mercury Milan, due in part because of the recalls & that the body rusted away so badly. I like the Mercury because it's more comfortable and really good on gas, and the best part of the vehicle it has a manual transmission which I like better than an automatic.

They will still beg for money....they're soo happy because Toyota is sinking...

this is their perfect opportunity for them to reach out to the society and convince them to buy American.....

All your doing is downgrading......its useless

I would rather drive a Toyota with 1 cylinder then ever sit in a Ford Focus or a Chevy Cobalt
