Default Is Toyota still good enough to buy one?
I am looking at the Toyota tacoma as my first vehicle and I would buy used. I need 4x4 and a pickup would be nice as I raise show sheep and travel over Eisenhower pass frequently. What year and body style do you guys think or should I keep looking?

isn't toyota the car brand that's being recalled? because of some acceleration problem and wiring problems or something?

yeah theyll be fine, give them a month or two so they can have everything all peachy before you go out and buy a car though, in my opinion.

I have a 2009 Tacoma PreRunner (not 4x4 but same body style). Have not had any problems. I know people who have them with 200,000 miles on them. As long as they have been taken care of (oil changes, routine maintenance) they will be fine.

I would go with full size Chevy 2500 or Ford F250.

Dodge Ram. I bought a diesel,duly-4x4 in 1999 with Cummins engine. Had very little problem in 250,000 miles. Really heavy duty bull of a truck, pulled a big 5th wheel and had a blast traveling. I had always bought Toyota-40 years, will never buy another one. I noticed their quality changed, very cheap parts on my 2004 Matrix xrs. If you want to go Toyota, go with an older model in the 80's or 90's-seems they were made better then. I think this latest thing will all but sink Toyota-its a fatal blow. Mr Toyoda crying in front of the world doesn't do anything for me. Toyota will be added to the Studebaker and Edsel line-up. Very sad, over 70,000 workers, plus thousands of suppliers in the US all lost jobs.

I would never set foot in a Toyota. These vehicles are unsafe nomatter what they tell you. And US made trucks have always been a better truck anyways. Also better looking.
