Toyota Prius Recalls? Do I have to bring?

I have a 2009 Toyota Prius, do i take it in for Recal? I called them and they said we will give you a call. Do I wait for them to call or do i just go to the dealer and have them take a look.

if they said they will all you, you are ok. just shut off your car if you start to take off.

My car got recalled as well but to take it into the dealer, you have to have received a letter in the mail officially telling you that your specific car has been recalled. If you don't receive one, then it could be that your car isn't recalled due to the location of its manufacturing.

The only Prius recall that applies to you is for the driver's side floor mat. I don't know about you, but my time is too valuable to spend a couple of hours at a Toyota dealer for them to remove my floor mat and/or make sure that it is properly attached -- I can do that myself in 60 seconds.

The braking recall is only for model year 2010 (at this time).

You can call the manufacturer and give them your VIN. Chances are, the recall is on a certain number of cars in a particular make and model and timeframe. Your VIN has this information in it and they can tell you if it is part of the recall.

Mostly you don't worry about it. It's only if your floor mat isn't fixed to the hooks or you have a floor mat over the OE floor mat that there could be a problem. Even then, it's only a problem if you let it ride up. This has got to be the silliest recall I've ever heard of. Floor mats have been riding up and causing unintended acceleration since there have been floor mats.

The Prius will cancel the acceleration when you put your foot on the brake--even if your other foot (or the floor mat) is on the accelerator. In my opinion this is a non-issue.

No...you take it to the dealer....

As a Camry owner, they told me the same thing....I went anyway and had my pedals fixed.

DO NOT Wait for the call...sometimes they might never even call

Take it in or sellit and buy something more dependable than a Toyota
