If one is speeding and is driving a Toyota, one can always claim that the car took off: it was not him that was speeding.































That is a pretty cast iron alibi to get away in a Court of law!

NO!!! beause they would counter your argument by saying, " did you not apply the brake, take it out of gear, pull the handbrake, put the clutch in turn off the engine?" as you shoudl when your car malfunctions.

Doing something like that would be as dishonest as Toyota was to you when they sold it to you. And as you can already see...What goes around...comes around!

no, all you have to do is turn off the key.































I used to have a sticky 4 barrel carburetor on my 1968 327 engine. some times after getting on the highway the engine would race and take off.































This is not a new problem, it just got a lot of press this time around.

The opposite. From my observation, many Toyota drivers on the road these days are a very wary group, driving well below the speed limit and leaving lots of space between themselves and the next vehicles, and accelerating very gradually. Some Toyota owners I know are limiting their driving as much as possible, and avoiding highway trips altogether, until the loss-of control, braking and steering defects are corrected, without question.
