My opinion? When these problems first surfaced, if Toyota had spent as much time trying to resolve them in their engineering departments as they did trying to protect their reputation in their marketing departments, this whole fiasco would be over and done with by now.

Toyota got greedy. They felt that the problems wouldn't happen to them and if it did it would blow over because they felt they were perfect.































Toyota is simply following down the same road as GM did in the 70's. They put profits 1st, quality has suffered, and generally gotten too big to keep track of everything they do.

No, if I were CEO I would demand that all my gas pedals are too high to get stuck under floor mats like the REPUTABLE companies do.
