If you get one of the smaller ones with a 4 cylinder or a V8 they can get fairly decent mpgs. If you want the best gas mileage though you are better off sticking with compact cars instead of trucks.

I own a 2005 Tacoma V6 and get 21mph around town.

The Tacoma is among the many recalled Toyota vehicles, so you might want to wait until the dust settles and all the facts arwe in before committing your money and safety to that model. Fuel economy is a poor replacement for safety.

No trucks are good on gas especially 4WD. be careful many toyota trucks have frame rot problems
