Don't bother putting chemicals into your gas tank. They don't work and are a waste of money. The Tercel's often need ring jobs because they are burning oil, and running poorly. Do you see blue smoke coming out of the tailpipe at all?
If not, you should consult a mechanic and describe the symptoms. It may just need tune up parts, like spark plugs, wires, fuel filter, etc.
If it's an automatic transmission, the lockup torque converter may have a problem.
Anyway, you should take it in and get an assessment to find out what exactly is going on. It's unlikely to get better, and you don't want to find yourself stranded on the side of the road.
