Default Oil Pan for 2008 Toyota Corolla.?
I am looking for information on how I can replace the oil pan on my toyota corolla. The threads are worn and I cannot tighten the drain plug onto the pan. Is it better to re-thread the oil pan or just replace it. Thanks all.

I would replace the pan and then buy a Fumoto valve so that the threads don't get damaged again.

It will be a lot cheaper to install a threadsert in the pan, I have done many.















The problem is the drain bolt is hardened and the pan is not so if you over tighten the bolt to many times you will strip out the threads out of the pan.















If you cant do that they make over sized plugs.

Just replace BUT use the new kind of plug that allows you to drain the oil with an open/close valve instead of taking it out.

You do not have to support the oil pan. The bar that runs from front to back needs to be removed. There is 2 bolts holding it to the lower radiator support, then there should be an oval plug with 2 more bolts to the front engine mount.
