Toyota Lucida will not start up?

Default Toyota Lucida will not start up?
We have quite an old Diesel Toyota Lucida import recently while driving it has started to cut out but start immediatly and go to cut out but doesn't when driving. Today we went to go out in it and it wouldn't start up at all it just clicks and all of the lights come on on the dash board but thats it nothing else happens. We jump started it and it started drove to a friends turned the engine off tried to start it again and nothing happened again so went in so they could jumpstart us to get us home but tried it before they did and it came on again straight away. Now we're at home we tried to turn it on once we had parked on the drive and nothings happening again. Any ideas what could be wrong?

clean your battery terminals, that may help my mates integra did that because of this random white crap that builds up on it.

I'm guessing its the diesel engined one. I had one a few years ago. (Its plate dosn't end in 661 does it?)































I never had any problems with it, but on a land rover diesel I had, turned out to have a defective earth lead that killed all the power to the engine.































On the other hand, it could just be a defective battery. I'm lucky as I live next to a kwik fit garage and they leant me a battery to check out mine. AS garage should be able to tell you if the alternator is duff.































There's your next problem, where to get the spares. You might have to contact a Toyota dealer, but a good private mechanic will be able to source some for you too.

Battery is too old and not taking a good charge or has poor connections or both.
