Default How reliable are generation 2 (MKII) Toyota MR2's?

I'm interested in buying a 91-93 mr2 turbo or n/a. The mid-engine, rear wheel drive combo probably makes it a blast to drive but I'm just curious about what to expect out of a car that's almost 20 years old.

Expect to replace the turbo. Also the car is fun to drive but if you loose control it is incredibly hard to recover and tends to be pretty grisly on cleanup afterwards. If you don't want a project car get the NA, although it does put out considerably less power.
