What is this TRAC OFF button on my '97 Camry LE V6 for? (left side of dash)?

Default What is this TRAC OFF button on my '97 Camry LE V6 for? (left side of dash)?
I've pressed it multiple times, doesn't seem to do anything. No "click" noise or light that indicates something is activated or deactivated. Just curious.















Yeah, but shouldn't it do something to tell the driver that its activated or deactivated? I mean, the button goes to the same position after I press it. I would think it would click and appear in a different position or something or I would feel it kick in maybe. I'm wondering if my car just doesn't have the feature?

its traction control switch...u car may not have traction control equipped.....

traction control. you use it for bad weather and when theres snow on the ground.

It deactivates the traction control. Useful if you need to drive through mud, or get the car unstuck from a snow drift, it allows the wheels to spin without the traction control kicking in.

It should say "Trac off" on your dash cluster when you push it. It may be unplugged or the switch could be broken
