Toyota $16 million fine?

If Toyota agrees to the $16 million dollar fine, where does that money go to?

Will people who bought some fo the recalls get a piece of that?

I don't think anyone who bought a recalled car will get any of that

I think that's just going to go to the government to be used up.

its a government fine so it goes to the government, who may be compensating those who lost their lives due to the car malfunction. or they might just keep it idk

i dont think so it will go straight to the government or who ever normally collects those fines.

No it will go to cover some of the tens of millions the government had to spend investigating Toyota since Toyota was't ever going to be honest about the safety issues and had to be forced to try to fix the problems caused by Toyota engineer ineptitude.

The fine sounds like a lot, but will help pay a fraction of the government's costs for investigating and prosecuting Toyota. The compensation to owners will come from the class-action settlements. It's estimated that Toyota will have to compensate aggrieved Toyota owners from 3 to10 billion dollars (U.S.) when the dust settles.

Someone on AOL just figured it out to be $2.67 for each car that was recalled. Wow, that'll teach them.
